As the name of this tour suggests we cover the top half of Oman which undoubtedly offer’s the greatest opportunity to see and experience exactly what Oman is all about!
At the very top of the Sultanate of Oman is the Musandam Peninsula, sometimes referred to as the ‘Fjords of Arabia’. It is characterised by immense rolling hills of rock and grand mountains. It is a harsh environment, yet beautiful where traditional Omani fishing villages are nestled into the few inlets and coves that permit them habitation.
Upon exploring the Musandam Peninsula we then catch the ferry to Muscat and continue our tour through the Hajar Mountains, Wahiba Sands & Jebel Shams.
We conclude our trip in Dubai going via the UAE/Oman border town of Hatta.
The tour commences in Dubai @ 3pm. Location is the Premier Inn, Dubai International Airport or equivalent.
The Tour Brief will be conducted from 3.30pm onwards in the Premier Inn conference room, after which you are invited to join us for the tour ‘Welcome Dinner’ at the Bastikaya Cultural precinct in Dubai.
We understand and appreciate great distances have been covered for all of you to have joined us here on the Arabian Peninsula.
Accomodation tonight is on a twin share basis.
Day 2. - Distance covered ~320 km's -
With an early start, we head out of Dubai for the 2 hour road trip to the UAE/Oman border of Al Dhafar where we complete border formalities and gain entry to Oman.
** Please DO NOT take pictures or video whilst completing border formalities. This may result in your device being confiscated **
This day is planned as an opportunity for riders to adjust & familiarise themselves with their KTM 990 Adventure motorcycle or equivalent. Please take the time necessary to get comfortable with the bike and how it handles, both on road and off road.
After crossing the UAE/Oman border we head north and commence our ride into the spectacular Musandam Peninsula.
After checking into our overnight accommodation we then head into the interior of the Musandam Peninsula to gain an appreciation for the immensity or scale of what lies before us.
Our overnight accommodation is in Khasab town on a twin share basis.
Day 3. - Ferry Journey from Khasab to Muscat -
This morning we make our way to the Khasab Port for the 6 hour ferry journey to Muscat. The journey is based on an economy class ticket, however an upgrade to business class or VIP class is possible and can be purchased prior to departure only. Please contact us for further details.
A meal is provided on the ferry, but snacks will need to be furnished as well, such as a banana, apple, orange or nuts e.t.c
We arrive in Muscat at appx. 7pm and make our way to our overnight accommodation.
Day 4. - Rest day Muscat -
Guests can relax or explore Muscat at their own pace today. Attractions whilst in Muscat include the Mutrah Souq, Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Muscat Old town or perhaps try to catch a performance at The Royal Opera House of Muscat of which a timetable of performances can be viewed here.
An ideal way of exploring Muscat is on the Big Bus tour.
Day 5. - Distance covered ~380km’s -
Today we head south from Muscat to the coastal village of Sur for lunch visiting Hawyat Najm and Tiwi on our way.
After lunch in Sur we then make our way into the fabled Wahiba Sands and our overnight camp.
Sunset and the evening stars being one of the highlight’s of our visit into the Wahiba Sands.
For riders not comfortable on riding in soft sand, a 4WD vehicle transfer to our overnight accommodation deep in the Wahiba can be arranged.

Day 6. - Distance covered ~ 350km’s -
This morning after experiencing a desert sunrise we head back out of the Wahiba Sands and visit Wadi Bani Khalid before heading east towards the former capital of Oman, Nizwa. After admiring the former capital we make our way to Bahla Fort and the beehive tombs of Jebel Kwar before heading to the highest mountain or Jebel in Oman and our overnight stop.
Accommodation is on a twin share basis with upgrades also possible at this location.
Day 7. - Distance covered ~380kms –
This morning we leave our mountain redoubt of Jebel Shams and make our way back down to the base of the Hajar Mountains. From here, we climb up to the entry point of the breathtaking Wadi Bani Awf and the village of Balat Sayt. After soaking up the tranquillity and traditional way of life that Balat Sayt represents to the Omani’s who call the village home, we continue onto Rustaq and the thermal spring that has been in existence for millennia.
After lunch in Rustaq we then meander our way back to the Oman/UAE border of Al Wajaja and our tour destination of Dubai.
We arrive back in Dubai at appx. 6-7pm - border formalities permitting –
Accommodation tonight is included as part of the tour cost and is on a twin share basis.

What’s included & what is not:
- 7 nights’ accommodation (2 nights of which are in Dubai, the first and last nights)

- Meals except for lunch on the rest day in Muscat
- Economy class ferry ticket Khasab - Muscat. Upgrades are available and payable at the time of booking or no later than 48 hours before ferry departure

- International airfares are not covered
- Medical Costs are not covered. It is mandatory appropriate medical coverage/insurance is sought
